Branding & Indetity

A visual identity project for Climate Emergency Week at UAL, developed around this year’s theme, “Fault Lines: Foregrounding Repair Practices.” The brief was to work within the existing UAL guidelines while creating a fresh visual direction for the 2025 programme.

I took repair as the starting point and explored how stitches, patches and rough fixes could be applied to objects found in nature, such as cracked shells, nuts, mushrooms and other imperfect forms.
The idea was to show the human attempt to care for and repair nature, while also acknowledging the damage we have caused.

The resulting visual language is playful, tactile and intentionally imperfect, using visible repairs to bring a sense of human involvement into the identity.

Multidisciplinary Designer specialising in branding + identity

My name is Masha (a Russian nickname for Mariia). I’m a UK-based designer with a love for branding and thoughtful illustration. I enjoy meeting people, learning what inspires them, and helping bring their ideas to life through clear, considered visual design. I work across a range of media, from print and digital to motion and simple interactive design, always tailoring my approach to the project and the people behind it.

If you have an idea you’d like to bring to life and aren’t quite sure where to start, I’d love to hear from you :)
